the name of the course and the minimum time required for completing it, and

the amount of the fee for the complete course, or if the course is longer than one year, the annual fee, and
whether you have to pay course fees and whether the fees are domestic or foreign fees, and
whether you are studying full-time or part-time. Your course must be approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). Evidence of funds to support yourself-
To gain a student visa or permit we want to see that you are able to meet your living costs during your stay. Evidence may include:

enough money held in New Zealand by you, or on your behalf,
an undertaking by another person to cover your accommodation and living costs (we’ll want to see this before you leave for New Zealand),

financial assistance available to you under aid programmes operated in New Zealand by a government agency."

The first step is to select an institution and course and then make an enrolment application for that course. There is no limit on the age of a person wishing to study in New Zealand however the New Zealand Immigration Service needs to be satisfied that the applicant is a genuine student when they process the student visa application. Historically the main difference had been that Universities focussed on academic programmes and the Polytechnics focussed on practical training. Over recent years both types of institutions have expanded their range of programmes and now there is significant overlap between Universities and Polytechnics. Over recent years the Polytechnic programmes have been expanded to include a wide range and number of degree programmes. A number of Polytechnics have also merged together and have changed their names from Polytechnics to Institutes of Technology to better reflect their focus. Cross-credits for courses completed at the Polytechnic can be credited to ongoing University study in most instances.

There is no limit on the time you can spend in New Zealand as a student. Secondary School normal tuition fees are from NZ$8,000 - NZ$10,500 per year for most schools but some private schools are more expensive

University Degrees from NZ$12,500 - NZ$20,000 per year for most under-graduate degrees
Post-graduate Degrees begin from NZ$15,000- NZ$22,000 per year and MBA Degrees are about NZ$20,000 -NZ$25,000----The approximate annual living expenses are about NZ $ 10,000 - 12,000, which includes accommodation as well as other daily expenses. However, the expenses are different for different people depending on the lifestyles and this is just a rough idea. New Zealand has the lowest cost of living among most developed countries."

Which documents are usually required for admission in Postgraduate degrees in New Zealand?

"Most New Zealand universities accept the Indian graduation system of three years for entry into most postgraduate courses. An Indian bachelor degree like B.A., B.Com. or B.Sc. is equivalent to a New Zealand Bachelor (Ordinary) Degree. However, some courses and universities may require a qualification equivalent to New Zealand Bachelor (Honors) Degree, which requires 16 years of formal education, which would mean another year after graduation or a four year degree course like B.E., B.Tech or other such courses. For most Universities, a good first degree from a leading university in India or its equivalent is essential.

If the student is not proficient in English, he may be required to take the IELTS (International English Testing System). Every institute has its own minimum scores with respect to this test.

International students are required to take IELTS (International English Language Test), which is regularly administered by the British Council. A minimum score of 6.5 is usually required by most institutes.

If the student does not obtain the minimum score required by the institute, he/she will have to go in for a 3 to 9 month bridging course in English at the institute before the start of the chosen program of study.

Some universities may accept TOEFL scores instead of IELTS score. "
